Couched Constructions: Work Day 4

After a few hours of pulling staples and fighting with fabric, the majority of the frame on couch number two has been exposed! To reiterate some overall notes:
-the frame from couch one is MUCH more sturdy than the frame from couch two. it can be strengthened with scrap pieces if necessary.
-the couch is still quite heavy as a whole and we're uncertain how feasible it will be to move it around, wheels are almost becoming a must to make something mobile.
-couch number two is made of a cotton/polyester sort of fabric that hasn't weathered the deconstruction process very as the leather from couch one did. It will be nearly impossible to reuse the fabric and stuffing.

Now, on our next work day, Becca and I will attempt to 'free' the back piece from the base piece and disassemble the arms into usable scrap pieces.  Below you can estimate the size of this new back piece with the back of couch number one.  It has a bit more of an angle to it than couch number one but is basically the same overall length.

Here is a series of photos depicting how the base unit unfolds from a seat to a bed.  Current ideas for use of this folding mechanism include using it as a retractable canopy or keeping it as a fold out bed; either would most likely be part of some sort of moveable object as a few of the prior design ideas have depicted.

Here are some additional photos from the day:
