Couched Constructions: Assessments

After the first day of deconstruction, we discussed using the whole frame or parts of the frame as modules instead of the individual components for two main reasons:
1) Due to the difficult, labor-intensive deconstruction process, it is unlikely that someone already struggling to survive would be able to complete such a task efficiently. It requires a hammer, two types of screw-drivers, pliers, a saw, a box cutter, and wire cutters. Also, two people may be required to turn and move the couch.
2) The couch frame is designed and built to withstand large amounts of force, wear, and tear. Typically the reason people discard couches is solely cosmetic, and the frame is likely to be very solid. Using the frame as a whole unit or in large pieces would allow us to take advantage of its existing structural stability.

I have drawn the frame in a 3D model to allow us to further explore the modules and continue to disassemble and document the frame and pieces.
